Maryland and Virginia Unite: MCBC and Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Announce Cooperation

In our ongoing effort to forge relationships with organizations which share our commitment to advancing U.S.-China business and trade relations, MCBC has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce International Business Exchange Council (IBEC). This agreement, inked by MCBC President Andy Dubosky and Mr. William Lecos, President of the FCCC, calls for the two organizations to co-develop and jointly promote programs in the MD/VA/DC area for businesses interested in China.

The linking of Maryland and Virginia broadens the opportunities for members of the MCBC and the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce to network, exchange information and develop prospects for cooperation.

"We are excited about the opportunities provided by this agreement," said MCBC President Andy Dubosky. “We believe that the combination of MCBC’s China-oriented resources and the Chamber's integrity and broad reach will enhance the understanding of the challenges of developing business in China. This comes at a fortuitous time for both organizations as IBEC's 'Gateway to China' program is now in full swing."

The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce’s International Business Exchange Council (IBEC) was formed in response to the growing internationalization of Fairfax County’s business community and the changing needs of the Chamber’s diverse membership. The focus of IBEC is to facilitate business goals with access to international resources and provide tools for business efficiency. This year the focus of IBEC is on connecting businesses in Northern Virginia to those in China, where business opportunities are growing exponentially. On March 27th, a kick-off reception at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China began a series of "Gateway to China" programming scheduled for 2008.
