Government / China Business Partnerships

One of our most popular events!

The line between business and government in China is not as clear as it is in the US. To succeed in China, you frequently need the assistance of the US government.

Fortunately you are in luck as there are numerous programs and relationships already in place to help your business thrive. Come join Members and Friends of MCBC at this informative event, as we discuss the many programs that are in the DC area.

Bill Burwell: Director, Baltimore US Export Assistance Center
Bill will be talking about USEAC's mission, helping Maryland firms to increase international sales and expand business operations by utilizing the U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service global network, Federal partners such as the Small Business Administration and the Ex-Im Bank, and state and local economic development agencies.

Lily Qi: Director of Special Projects Montgomery County, Office of the County Executive
Lily will talk about ways that Montgomery Country is partnering with business and talk about the Montgomery County Xi'an sister city relationship.

W. Fontaine Bell: Chairman at Baltimore-Xiamen Sister City Committee
Fontaine will talk about ways that Baltimore is partnering with business and talk about the Montgomery County Xiamen sister city relationship.

Brad Gillenwater: Regional Manager - Asia, Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development
Brad will speak about Maryland’s China-market export development program, which annually offers extensive support to approximately 50 of the State’s companies, and touch upon efforts to attract Chinese foreign direct investment.
